Yes, there is a bookstore in Millville, New Jersey! As a matter of fact, a bookstore has been thriving at 210 N. High Street in Millville, New Jersey, for over 35 years. For the first 30 years it operated as Wind Chimes and sold used and new books, developing a used book donation policy to afford the customer a larger discount on their purchase of used books.
Now and for the past five years, smack in the center of the Millville Arts District, it operates as Bogart’s Books & Coffee. Bogart’s, where old and new customers can enjoy their favorite reading with comfy seating, internet access, the sounds of original music by local artists, hot and cold beverages, pastries and treats along with live musical performances on weekends.
Bogart’s also hosts Poetry on High, an open mic event for poets, writers and musicians and receptive to all every Sunday after Millville’s monthly Third Friday event. It is also home to a writers group that meets on the Saturday after Third Friday and is open to adults over 18 years of age. The Super Second Saturday Readers Club recently formed for young readers ... who read out loud to other young readers, encouraging reading.
Bogart’s welcomes book clubs and other groups to join in on the fun. The Public is encouraged to check often on upcoming events at their website www.bogartsbookstore.com and become a Bogart’s Books & Cafe fan on Facebook for regular updates.
Remember that Bogart’s always sells new books in the store and orders books (new and used) for customers that are not in stock. The book donation policy is still in effect and provides an additional 75% discount off the original retail price of used books to those customers who choose to participate. And, all customers at Bogart’s are entitled to a 50% discount off the original retail price of used books. The policy exists to insure that those who donate and keep the used book program in operation, healthy and interesting, are entitled to a greater discount. Check out the website and flyers explaining the donation parameters if you are interested.
